Fol. 244v:
The page opening the sixth chapter of the SeMaK includes a part-page painted a Gothic trefoil panel occupying the upper part of the page filling the width of the text space, executed in the first stage of decoration.
The trefoil panel is topped by gables and spires decorated with crockets and green, purple and red onion shaped finials.
In the center of the panel is the word “to give” (לתת) , written in burnished gold display letters outlined in black against red ground decorated with pink branches.
The initial is set within a separate frame forming two arches above and below the word, the upper one accommodates the ascender of the letter lamed.
The initial word panel is surrounded by hybrids and dragons with leafy tails set on an alternating green and blue checkered ground. The hybrid on the right is composed of a donkey with human hands, while the one on the left is composed of an auk and a dragon. The dragons in the lower part are winged and their tails are intertwined. Both the inner initial word panel and the trefoil panel are framed by a yellow band with a black stepped crenellation motif.
