The initial word “Thou” אתה which opens the prayer for the Hakkafoth of Simhat Torah which occupies the width of the text space is written in bold square Ashkenazi script in dark brown ink. Various animals such as dragons, dogs , deer, hares and birds are depicted either within the letters in spare ground technique or between the space of the letters and above them, in pen-work, some of which are in hunt scenes. A ground line on which a dog’s head chasing a hare is depicted extends from the letter “aleph” and underneath this ground line is a flying bird with an unidentified object in its beak. Within the top part of the letter “Taph” is a dog chasing a deer, while in it’s space is a dog with a fowl in its mouth. Within the space of the letter “Heh” is a dog biting a deer’s leg and on the left is a stork with a snake in it’s beak. A ground line is depicted between the end of the word and the scribal justification on the left and on it are two trees and two dogs’ heads are flanking and chasing a deer. The junctions of the strokes of the letters are decorated with human masks and twisted dragon heads.
