  Sacred and Ritual  Torah finials, Iran, 1909

The rimon is made of silver and consists of a shaft, a body,a head and an apex ## The shaft is tapering cylindercal and has a slantcut bottom. Rings encircles the bottom,middle and top. It is surmounted by a globural capital. The body has a pear shape.It is mounted over a bowl-shaped body base and is surmounted by an angular collar to which ten rings are attached. A chain carrying flattened and slit drop shaped bell is hung on each ring. ## The body base is decorated with petals radiating from its base and a band with a floral pattern. The body is decorated with five triangular base cartouches with a floral pattern.A band bears a dedicatory inscription encircles the bottom. The head is decorated with a large band with a floral pattern, in its base and petals radiating from the apex. A conic apex is mounted over the head. The dedicatory inscription which engraved in outlined letters reads: ! הקדישה האשה פירי' למנוחת בעלה שלמה בן שמחה ש תרס!ט! !Was dedicated by the woman ??? for the repose of her husband Solomon sonof Simhah the year 669 (1909.)!
