  Sacred and Ritual Torah pointer, Austria-Hungary/Habsburg Monarchy, 1932
The brass Torah pointer consists of a hanger, a bar and a pointer. ##The bar is composed of an upper arm, a forearm and upper and Middle joints. The upper arm is surmounted by a globular upper joint. An undulating middle joint separates the upper arm from the forearm. The cylindrical upper arm broadens toward its centre, which is encircled by a ring. The two parts separated by the ring bear a geometrical pattern. The cylindrical forearm is narrower then the upper arm. It is decorated with geometrical patterns and bears a dedicatory inscription. It terminates with a straight cuff and a clenched hand with straight index finger and thumb. The dedicatory inscription is engraved in linear letters and reads towards the pointer: מתנה לק'ק )לקהילת קודש( בזרזיק יעא )יכוננה עליון אמן( מהאדון יוסף וביאה הלוי היו יבניו ## אהרון יצחק יהודה ואשתר א ניסן שנת תרצב לפק ## 2391 !A gift to the holy congregation (int.) of Pasardjik, may the Sublime establish it, Amen (int.), from the master Joseph Uviah Halevi and his children ##Aharon, Isaac, Jehuda and Esther, the 1st of Nissan the year (5)692=(7.4.1932)! A chain hangs from a loop attached to the upper joint.
