Jewish Architecture Synagogue in Vištytis, Lithuania
The brick and plastered synagogue was built in the mid-19th century of red brick. In 2008 there was only a small redbrick fragment of the western wall of the synagogue (ca. 14 m) with the northwestern and southwestern corners. Half-columns divide the wall in bays, pierced with round-headed windows; today these openings are bricked up with white silicate bricks. A few fragments of plaster and rustic work can still be seen. The structure is completed with wooden walls and is covered with a lean-to roof of asbestos sheets. In 2008, the wall of the former synagogue with the wooden annex serves a storage space for the Vištytis secondary school.
