Sacred and Ritual Objects Torah pointer, Kiev, 1890
The silver Torah Pointer consists of a bar, a pointer, an apex and a hanger.
The tapering bar is divided into upper and lower arms by a globular joint decorated with a floral motif, and a ring encircles the middle. A larger joint decorated with the same motifs on the lower part and an open filigree on the upper part tops the bar. The apex is in the shape of a birds with its wings spread, seated on the upper joint. A ring hanger is attached to the bird.
The four faceted upper arm is decorated with a foliate X pattern. The twisted faceted lower arm is decorated with a wavy line at the border of each facet. A conical cuff with undolating edges covers the lower part of the bar. The bar terminates with a clenched hand with a sraight index finger pointer.
