Sacred and Ritual Objects Torah pointer, Turkey, 1934
The silver Torah pointer consists of a bar, a pointer and a hanger.
The bar is divided into an upper and lower part. The twisted upper part terminates with a loop hanger through which a chain is inserted. The rectangular lower part terminates with a pointer in a shape of a clenched hand with a straight index finger. The palm bears the initial: "ה'" "The Lord" The lower part bears a dedicatory inscription in square linear letters, which reads from the upper part towards the pointer: On one side:
"[הק' [הקדש] לק"ק [לקהל קדוש] בית הלל יב"ץ [יראו בנחמת ציון] ממני יום טוב ן' דוד אבוראשית הי"ו [השם ישמרהו ויצילהו"
"Dedicated to the Holy Congregation, School of Hillel................................from me Yom-Tov N` David Aburashit may the Lord protect him and save him"
