© Center for Jewish Art, Photographer: Radovan, Zev, 1988

The six cups are made of silver and have a bowl shape. The inner side of the cups is decorated.

A medallion, bearing a Star of David depicts the centre of the cup on a foliate background. Eight ogee arches encircle the medallion. Each arch bears a different description:

  • The Western Wall, with the inscription: כותל !Wall! ;
  • two domed buildings with four tapering floors and three cypress;
  • water birds and fish ;
  • a river with a fish and mountains ;
  • two domed buildings and a cypress bearing the inscription: מערבי !Western! ;
  • a three floors building and a tree; a river with water birds and a stag(-?) ;
  • a jar and cups.

A band bearing a dedicatory inscription encircles the main decoration. The borders of the cup are encircled by foliate motifs. Medallions are integrated with the extrime runner and bear the date:

שנת..ת..ש..לא [שנת..ת..ש..ה] (5)731 (1971)

(on the early cup the date is [5]705 [1945])

The dedicatory inscription is engraved in outline letters on a dotted background and reads:

The early cup:

!Moshe, may his Rock protect him and sustain him (int.), son of Aba Na'amad, (followed by Prov. 3:8 in int.), may you grant many years for pleasant life in the rejoice of Jerusalem, may it be built and established (int.)!

An identical inscription appears on the other five later cups, but the names are different:

ברכה בת משה נחמד...##אסנת בת...##בנימין בן...##יוסף בן...##אסתר בת... !

Brakhah daughter of Moshe Nehmad...##Osnat daughter of...##Binyamin son of...##Yoseph son of...##Esther daughter of...!
