Sacred and Ritual Objects Torah shield
The silver Torah shield is rectangular and terminates with a semi circular arch. The Tables of the Covenant are depicted in the center and bear an inscription written in square filled letters, and reads: "ז'נ [זו נדבת] אשה שרה בת ר' יוסף". "This is the donation of the woman Sara daughter of Rabbi Iosef". They are flanked by two rampant lions facing backwards and revealing their tongues. They are surmounted by a crown and an eagle. The lower part is decorated with a vase from which spread two branches bearing a cone. The Torah shield is framed by a band decorated with a flower and leaf pattern. Two rings are attached to the backside and bear a chain.
