Description:

 The memorial plaque is placed on the wall of the synagogue. It bears Hebrew and Dutch inscriptions.

Translation: The child is gone. 

In Dutch

"Het kind is niet meer."

Translation: "The child is gone." / Gen. 37:30 / In this building was located since 1871 / the central Israelite orphanage. / Jewish orphan children found here a safe home. / In 1942, they, their caregivers and / their director were taken away from here / They never returned.
