The Jews of Turiisk (Volhynia, Poland; today Turiisk, Ukraine), perished in the Holocaust.
Description:
The monument is located in the Northeastern Alley of the cemetery, among dozens of Holocaust memorials erected by landsmannschaft organizations, survivors, and relatives.
The monument is a sculpted stone stele with a relief of an arched motif resembling a synagogue window and a dove next to it. It stands on a rectangular base. The lower part of the stele has grey stone which resembles a wall. At the rear side of the monument there is a small plaque, and another metal plaque is attached to the side of the base. The monument bears Hebrew inscriptions honoring the community's memory. The community name is emphasized through the use of a larger font size. Inscriptions indicate that the monument contains the scroll with the names of the community's victims and the ashes community's victims, who perished in the Holocaust.
