Memorial Name:

No official name.

Who is Commemorated?

The Jews of Dieveniškės, Lithuania, and its surroundings, who perished in the Holocaust.

Description:

The monument is located in the Northeastern Alley of the cemetery, among numerous Holocaust memorials erected by Landsmannschaft organizations, survivors, and descendants.
The memorial consists of a tall, dark stone slab framed by two light-colored, upward-slanting stone wings. At the base, a smaller rectangular stone platform holds memorial stones and candles. The monument bears two engravings: on the right, a depiction of a Jewish man seen from behind, in prayer; on the left, an engraving of a bell. At the base of the main slab lies a rectangular platform covered with dark pebbles. The monument includes two niches, one on each side of the central slab, set within the white stone wings, designed to hold memorial candles. The monument bears Hebrew inscriptions honoring the community's memory. The community name is emphasized through the use of a larger font size.
