The Jews of Opoczno, Poland, and surrounding communities who perished in the Holocaust.
Description:
The monument is located in the Southeastern Alley of the cemetery, among dozens of other Holocaust memorials erected by Landsmannschaft organizations, survivors, and relatives.
The monument is a light-colored stone slab with raised inscriptions, backed by an abstract sculptural arrangement. It stands on a stone base on which lies a flat horizontal slab. Above the main monument, there is a designated area for placing a memorial candle. The base is surrounded by additional stone slabs set into the ground.
On the lower right side of the monument, there is a small metal door. Next to the monument, there is a metal torch holder.
Nearby stands a stone bench.
The monument bears Hebrew inscriptions honoring the community’s memory. The community name is emphasized through the use of a larger font size.

Translation: In memory of the martyrs/of the community of Opoczno and the surrounding area/who were killed and burned by the Nazis and their collaborators

Translation: The marble work was donated by our friend Chaim Frosh/in memory of his wife Hilda, of blessed memory
