The Jews of Janów Lubelski, Poland, who perished in the Holocaust.
Description:
The monument is located in the Southeastern Alley of the cemetery, among dozens of other Holocaust memorials erected by Landsmannschaft organizations, survivors, and relatives.
It consists of a light-colored upright stone slab standing on a tiled stone base. To the right of the monument, a small stone structure with a metal door is positioned on the base. A small metal plaque with two flower-shaped metal handles is also attached to the base. At the foot of the main monument stands a small metal memorial candle box. On the left side of the monument, there is a bench with a commemorative metal plaque affixed to it. The monument bears Hebrew inscriptions honoring the community’s memory. The community name is emphasized through the use of a larger font size. One of the inscriptions indicates that the monument contains the ashes of the Jews who perished in the Holocaust.
