Huvah me-Yerushalayim Ir ha-Kodesh, Mukachevo (Munkács, Mukačevo), 1903

© Gross Family Collection, Photographer: Bar Hama, Ardon,

The following description was prepared by William Gross:

This amulet is a formula for supporting a business. It is stated that the amulet is for the store and that the formula is from an amulet brought from Jerusalem. The text contains the 42-letter name of God.  At the bottom, below the decorative border surrounding the text, the publisher and the place of printing are stated. This amulet was printed in a book published by the same Kahn and Fried in 1903, so one can assume that this is the date of the amulet. Also printed at the end of the same book along with this one was an amulet for the home, 027.011.270. It is unusual to find an amulet printed in a book.

Maker:            Kahn & Fried, Active
