Description

The monument is located on the mass grave of Jews of Liubeshiv. It is a gravestone with a black stone plaque attached to it. The plaque bears a Magen David and a Ukrainian inscription. The grave is surrounded by a wooden fence.

Inscription (Ukrainian):

Тут поховані
євреї - мешканці сіл
Любешівського району,
розстріляні
німецько-фашистськими
загарбниками
та поліцією
в серпні 1942 року.
Памʼятаємо їх!

Translation: Here are buried Jews – residents of the Liubeshiv district, shot to death by the German fascist invaders and the police in August 1942. We remember them!

In autumn 1942, a number of Jews were murdered near Sudche. The monument was erected in 1990. While Yad Vashem states that a new plaque with a Ukrainian inscription was installed in 2015, a photo of the monument on Wikipedia, dated 2012, shows this plaque already attached [Yad Vashem].
