Funerary Art Jewish cemetery in Hupalivka, Ukraine
According to ESJF European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative, the exact period of the cemetery's establishment is unknown. Given that the oldest preserved tombstone dates to the mid 19th century, it can be gathered that the cemetery was founded in that era. It cannot be found marked on old maps of the region. According to locals, someone dug up one grave, leaving a hole behind about 5 years ago. The cemetery is not fenced. There is one broken tombstone with inscriptions (lying by the road) and another which is unbroken. There are also fragments of the stones lying in the bushes.
Date of the oldest tombstone: 1860
Date of the latest tombstone: 1920
To reach the cemetery, start from the southeast exit from Novozlatopil village, turn left onto a dirt road and then drive for 3.07km. Then turn right and continue for another 1km until the cemetery is on the right.
