Who is Commemorated?

Jewish and Roma victims of the Holocaust from Brno

Description

This monument is a black polished granite cube positioned over a square pool of water, with the intention of looking like it is floating. each edge of the cube is 3.14 meters in length, to invoke the repetition of human suffering the same way the number pi continues infinitely. water flows from the top of the cube, covering it in a veil of water.

In the shallow pool beneath the cube, the words "lest we forget" are gilded in Czech, Hebrew, and Romani, along with a Magen David, an "Ashoka's chakra", and an inscription.
