Who is Commemorated?

164 Jews of Lipnik killed in the Holocaust

Description

A series of rough stone slabs lead off the main path of the cemetery towards one of its walls, ending at a sculpture made of brown (rusted?) iron. At the start of the slab path is a small metal plaque with an inscription in Czech.

The iron sculpture takes the shape of a doorway or window, with a lattice of Stars of David, also of iron, inside it. Attatched to the latice is a black panel with the word Holocaust written on it in hebrew, followed by a list of names; the 164 Jews of Lipnik killed in the Holocaust.

Inscriptions

Hebrew:

השואה

Translation: Holocaust

[The word Holocaust in Hebrew is followed by the names of the 164 Jews of Lipnik killed in the Holocaust]

Plaque on the side

Czech:

[inscription to be translated]
