Description
This memorial's design is based on that of a monument located at the Yad Vashem Museum in Jerusalem, Israel, the "Monument to the Jewish Soldiers and Partisans Who Fought Against Nazi Germany", though certain details such as size are changed.
The memorial consists of two main components:
Six large, polished granite stones are arranged to create a sculptural monument that is the first component. Each rectangular stone has two flat long edges, and each end is cut to come to a point. The stones are stacked horizontally, with their flat edges touching. The middle stone on each side is pulled out of alignment to protrude from the edges causing the negative space to form a Magen David.
In alignment with the negative space between these columns is the second component of the monument, which is a pyramid with such severely steep walls that the pyramid could also be described as a spike or an obelisk. With regards to the original monument, this pyramid is meant to be a spearhead, to represent Jewish armed fighters against Nazi Germany.
Both of these components of the memorial are on a square of gravel beside a pathway that also contains a small plaque, and next to the monument is a dedicatory sign.
