Funerary Art Jewish section in the Zakhidne municipal cemetery in Dnipro, Ukraine
According to ESJF European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative, the cemetery was established no later than the first half of the 20th century, as the earliest tombstone dates to 1922. There are testimonies that the cemetery was established in 1917. This is likely as the expedition team dated the earliest tombstone to 1922.
It was not possible to calculate how many sectors there are. There is a guard. He says that people were buried where there was space. The graves are located chaotically and there is a partially Orthodox burial in the Jewish sector.
Date of the oldest tombstone: 1922
Date of the latest tombstone: 2020
From the main entrance to the cemetery, follow north along Chaliapin Street, after 220m, the Jewish sector will be on the right and left.
