In 1912 he moved to Eretz Israel where he immediately joined the Bezalel Academy and \u2013 until the school had to close in 1929 \u2013 Raban was one of its most important figures and teachers. He was a prolific and influential artist who created the cycles of the illustrations for several biblical books (Ruth, Esther, Job, and Songs of Songs) and for the Passover Haggadah. His works include also playing cards decorated with biblical figures as well as the mural tiles and decorative elements for the buildings of the King David Hotel and YMCA in Jerusalem. In addition, he created religious objects such as Chanukah menorahs."}
