Tribute to Anne Frank in the Jewish Museum in Miami Beach, FL, USA, 1980

© Samuel D. Gruber, Photographer: Gruber, Samuel D., 2022

Anne Frank is remembered in a small “tombstone” type memorial in front of the Jewish Museum of Florida in Miami Beach, the former Beth Jacob Congregation. The exact meaning of the inscription is unclear, it says in three inscribed lines: “Memory Lane / In Tribute to Anne Frank / 5740.” The memorial seems to be part of a larger series of “memory Lane” markers. The number 5740 may relate to the series, or it may be the Hebrew date for 1979.
