History/Provenance

The exact meaning of the inscription is unclear, it says on three inscribed lines: “Memory Lane / In Tribute to Anne Frank / 5740.” The memorial seems to be part of a larger series of “Memory Lane” markers. The number 5740 may relate to the series, or it may be the Hebrew date for 1979/80.
