Jews of Zarasai and the surrounding murdered at Krakynė forest.

Description:

A gray granite stele stands in the central park of Zarasai, near the church and the sculpture "Metamorfozis."

It bears a Star of David and the identical inscriptions in Lithuanian, Hebrew, and English. The only difference is that the Hebrew inscriptions contains a phrase used when mentioning killed people, May God revenge their blood.

In Hebrew:

לזכר אלפי יהודי זאראסיי והסביבה,
אזרחי ליטא - ילדים, נשים וגברים,
אשר נרצחו ביער קראקינה ב-26.8.1941
