Sacred and Ritual Objects Torah scroll, Russian Empire, late 19th century-early 20th century
The Torah scroll staves are broken and kept separate. They are decorated with the paper inserts decorated with floral motives and Hebrew inscriptions. The inscriptions read:
A: [משלי ג יז] עץ חיים היא למחזיקים בה ותמכיה מאשר [משלי ג יח]* דרכיה דרכי נעם וכל נתיבותיה שלום
B: [משלי ג טז] וזאת התורה אשר שם משה לפני בני ישראל [דברים ד מד] * ארך ימים בימינה בשמאלה עושר וכבוד
