The synagogue of the Upper Town of Osijek

Description:

A bronze memorial plaque is attached to a polished granite wall inserted into a show-case window in the ground floor of a building constructed on the site of the destroyed synagogue.

The plaque is in the form of the Star of David and features to identical inscriptions in Croatian and in Hebrew.

Translation: On this place stood the synagogue. Built in 1869. Set on fire in 1941. Demolished in 1950.
