Funerary Art Jewish cemetery in Đakovo, Croatia
According to ESJF, the Jewish cemetery of Đakovo was established either in 1860 or in 1879, near the town's municipal cemetery. As of 2009, approximately 700 tombs and the neo-Romanesque Ceremonial Hall (built in 1879) remained.
As of 2021, there were 259 headstones and 13 graves without tombstones. Additionally, 566 memorial tiles commemorate those who perished in concentration and death camps. Around 20 gravestones were either broken or heavily overgrown with vegetation. The Jewish section is separated from the municipal cemetery by a hedge approximately 30–40 cm in height.
