Jewish printed books Birkat ha-Mazon, Frankfurt am Main, 1727
This text was prepared by William Gross:
Birkat Hamazon, according to Ashkenazi and Polish custom, with Yiddish translation. Has Shabbat songs and prayers for Motzaei Shabbat, blessings at weddings, Seder Brit Milah and Pidyon Haben, prayers said at the cemetery, Kriat Shma, Kiddush for festivals, Passover Haggadah and Birkot Hanehenin. Frankfurt am Main, [1727]. With woodcut illustrations. The title, "I have heard from several Chassidim that this song should be sung often" appears before the song "Y-ah Ribon Olam V'Olmayah".
This is one of several editions of the "Birkat ha-Mazon" in the Gross Family Collection which contain woodcuts of customs. The vignettes used are rather crude copies of those found in the Amsterdam Minhagim books of the same period.
