Jewish printed books
  Chesed ve-Emet, Amsterdam, 1891

© Gross Family Collection, Photographer: Unknown,

This text was prepared by William Gross:

This is one of a group of small pamphlets published by different institutions in the cities of Europe, particularly Amsterdam, are the type of material that tends to be very ephemeral. So, such booklets are rare. This one presents the prayers and customs concerning the ritual washing of the dead as practised by the Chevra Kadisham Chesed VeEmet" of the Sephardic community of Amsterdam. This late printing also contains text in Dutch. It was probably issued in a limited number of copies, primarily for the members of the society.
