The Torah ark was constructed as a monumental portal featuring blue and green colors and gilded decorative elements. Its top tier depicts two griffins supporting the Tablets of the Law. The Torah ark stands against a painted background (mural) depicting a red curtain with gold fringe inside a multicolored triple arch.
In addition to the lettering on the Tablets of the Law, the Torah ark composition contains two inscriptions:
1. שויתי יהוה לנגדי תמיד
I have set the LORD always before me. [Psalm 16:8]
2. שיר המעלות לדוד שמחתי באמרים לי בית יי נלך
A song of the ascents. Of David. I was glad when they said to me: Let us go to the house of the LORD. [Psalm 122:1]
