  Ancient Art Coins of Herod Philip
REVERSE: A tetrastyle temple (Augusteum?) on a stylobate with one step. The pediment is decorated with a central dot within a triangle. The columns have Ionic capitals and simple bases. A Greek circumscription reads: ΕΠΙ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ ΤΕΤΡΑΡΧΟΥ, "During the time of Philip the Tetrarch". Between the columns is a date: L-Λ-Ζ, "Year 37". Border of dots. OBVERSE: Tiberius ( card no.1040 - same object).
According to Künker, "Herodian Dynasty, 40 BCE-96 CE. Philip, 4 BCE-34. Æ-20 mm, year 37=33/34, Caesarea Paneas/Philippi; 6,44 g. ΤΙΒEEEΡΙΟC CEEEBACTOC KAICAP around laureate head of Tiberius to r.//ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ ΤEΤΡΑΡΧΟΥ around the facade of a temple with four columns at the front, between the columns L – Λ – Ζ.
