Modern Jewish Art
  Zaltsman, Four masks

© Center for Jewish Art, Photographer: Radovan, Zev, 09.1995
The picture represents four masks put in one row. The left mask is a distorted grotesque face with a sharp chin and a long nose drawn to the left. The left eye resembles a screw, and the right eye one is dark and empty. The second mask represents a wide face with narow empty eyes and sharp triangular nose pointed at the end. There is a dark triangular reminding of a hat above his head. The next mask faces right has coarse features. The mouth is half open and one can see the teeth. The eye is dark and indistinct, the right is narrow. The last mask represents man with a beard and moustaches. He has even nose and eye-brows. He smiles and his narrow eyes are lowered. The background of the masks represents a combination of more or less dark pieces of different sizes.
