Modern Jewish Art
Settlement of immigrants from Russia on Kineret

© Center for Jewish Art, Photographer: Radovan, Zev, 02.1994
The picture represents a country landscape with small houses and trees in background. The road leading to the settlement divides water of the lake set in the foreground to two. Three white swans seen in profile swim from the right edge to the left and one swan swims from the left edge in opposite direction. Two big white ornamental lilies are depicted in the upper left and right corners of the composition. They are placing against a background of blue sky with dark blue and grey clouds. The houses, trees and road are painted in red, green and orange colors. A large pink inscription in Russian cursive letters crosses the picture from the left to the right: "Privet iz Izrailia!" ["Regards from Israel!"]. The lest syllable of the last word carried over to the next line.
