Modern Jewish Art
  Rabinovitch, Sand dunes

© Center for Jewish Art, Photographer: Radovan, Zev,
The sculpture is consrtacted of two different elements: an iron base witha date-palm tree on it and a ready-made spade possitioned on this base, with a small wooden donkey on its handle. The spade is an old used tool that might have been used by builders in earlier times when work was mostly manual. The small donkey on top of it is loaded with two jugs of water, symbolizing the flowering of the local deserts by physical labor. Another symbol of the flowering desert is the date-palm tree which gives food as well as shelter.
