Modern Jewish Art
  Portrait of Miss K.

© Center for Jewish Art, Photographer: Radovan, Zev, 02.1987
The portrait of a woman facing right is drawn in a Cubistic style. She is shown from the chest up with bare shoulders. She wears her dark hair in a bun and wears a hoop earring. She has deep sad eyes, a long nose, and wrinkles around her mouth. The drawing is comprised of many facets of various patterns, creating different textures. The edges of some of the facets form a diamond shape which frames most of the figure from below. The facets in the area of the woman's hands include fragments reminiscent of musical instruments, among them a round string instrument (guitar?) and possibly the bellows of an accordion.
