Modern Jewish Art Israel Rabinovitch, Journey without God, 1992
The sculpture is shaped like a toy train with chairs curved in low relief on the baselt surface. Four small wheel are attached to the ends of this rectangle frame. At the head of the train a shophar is added, its mouth sealed with lead to symbolize that this Jewish ceremonial implement can no longer be used as intended. Underneath the train's front wheels, a curved line made of iron is placed, as if to stop it from going farther. The train is connected with the image of the trains to the death camps during the Holocaust, while the sealed shophar stands for the cry of the victims, a cry that was never answered.
