  Torah finials from the Jewish Gymnasia of Pest, Budapest, 1928

The silver rimon consists of two constructions, a tree and the Tables of the Covenant.

The six-faceted constructions consist of a base, a main part, and a head. The bases bear a dedicatory inscription. The main parts facets are separated by corn shapes. Each facet bears different fruit trees. On f the left construction on one facet is a hanging lamp. The constructions are surmounted by a domical head. Between the constructions is a palm tree. Bellow the tree are the Tables of the Covenant inscribed with the first words of the Decalogue. Vines and scrolls surround the Tables.

The dedicatory inscription is engraved in outline filled and linear letters. It begins on the left building, and reads:

נדבת אהרון בן / צבי יהודה ריין / לחברת רעי הגימנסיה של ק"ק [קהילה קדושה] / פעשט להיות / לנוי ולקשות ספר תורה בבית / הכנסת / של בית הספר

Translation: A donation of Aharon son of / Zwi Jehuda Rein / to the friends' society of the gymnasia / of the holy community of / Pest to be an ornament and a decoration of the Torah Scroll / in the synagogue / of the school."

The inscription comtinues on the right construction, and reads:

נעשה על פי / תכנית של יעקב / בן שמואל ווססעל מורה בריא לגימנסיה  / של ק"ק [קהילה קדושה] פעשט / ושמש בפעם יום חנוכת ספר / תורה ביום מתן / תורתנו בשנת תרפ'ח תורה אשר נדבו % הבוגרים של בית הספר לבית הכנסת

Translation: Has been done according to / the design of Jakob / son of Samuel Wessel / Teacher of the gymnasia / of the holy community Pest / and seved at the time / the day of the dedication of the Torah scroll // On the day of giving of our Law (Shavuot) / in the year (5)668 (1928)/  the Torah that has been donated by / the graduates of the school  /  for the synagogue

The inscription on the borders is engraved in linear letters, and reads: Salgo Sandor Bp "Salgo Sandor Bp (Budapest)"
