Hebrew Illuminated Manuscripts JHM Esther Scroll with Floral Decoration and Hanging of Haman Scene, Germany (?), 18th century
The upper margins are decorated with a floral motif with fruits and on the lower margins, an acorn ornament appears. In the column containing the section listing the names of Haman's sons (Es. 9:6-10) is incorporated a figurative scene depicting Haman hanged on the gallows (Es. 7:10). The final benediction with instructions regarding the Megillah reading are written in a circle topped with a crown.
Below the circle with the final benediction, a Hebrew inscription can be seen.
A similar manuscript (no. S43) is stored at the Library of the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York.
