History/Provenance

The destroyed synagogue was first commemorated in 1971. The memorial was located at the site of the synagogue and looked like an upright slab topped by Magen David. The slab had an inscription in German:

Hier stand

von 1675-930

die Synagoge

der

Israilitischen

Kultusgemeinde

zu Hürben

The new memorial was built at the same site in 2004. [Alemannia Judaica]
