© Center for Jewish Art, Photographer: Radovan, Zev, 1991
The Havdalah candle holder which shaped like a tower, consists of an architectural section and a stand. The rectangular architectural section is composed of two tiers with a column at each corner. It is surmounted by a spire and an apex. The lower tier is hollow and each of the four sides comprises a central round arch flanked by two gabled entrances. The upper tier has an open round arch on one side. The other three sides are inscribed with a single word at the center, on a plain background. Written in square letters it reads from the left side clockwise: "בורא מאורי אש" "...Who createst the lights of fire" (Havdalah service). The architectural section is surmounted by a spire which is mounted on a round base and which is composed of vertical columns encircled by a ring. The knob-shaped apex surmounts the spire. The architectural section is supported by a stand comprising a base and shaft. The shaft is composed of a knob surmounted by a hollow, fluted, eliptical unit. The square base stands on four arched legs and has a knob on each corner.
