© Eva Maria Kraiss, Photographer: Kraiss, Eva Maria, 2017

On 29 May 2009 an act was signed in Warsaw, by the virtue of which the Union of Jewish Communities of the Republic of Poland donated a synagogue to the Municipality of Kępno.

The donation was restricted by certain conditions; the synagogue can be used exclusively for cultural purposes, i.e. as a museum, concert hall or exposition hall, it cannot be rented or provided for use or letting to third parties, excluding the Cultural Centre of Kępno and the Museum of Kępno Land, which may use it according to their statutory purposes.

Moreover, the Municipality of Kępno agreed to bestow the synagogue upon the Union of Jewish Communities of the Republic of Poland free of charge twice a year for the period of 14 days to for organizing celebrations.
