Sacred and Ritual Objects Torah crown, Libya, 1936
The silver coronet consists of ten facets.
The center-front facet is split down the center. Each facet is rectangular and is surmounted by a pointed arch. Each facet bears an engraved pattern of an amphora on a table, from which flows leaves and flowers. The pattern is framed by a twisted line. A dedicatory inscription is engraved on the lower border of the coronet.
The facets are connected by a silver pin hook placed through hinges. Each pin is surmounted by a cast acorn. Five hooks for attaching to the Torah Case are attached to the back of the coronet. The dedicatory inscription is engraved in filled letters and reads from the front:
!זה כתר התורה עשו האחים משה ואליהו בוהארון היו למנוחת מסעודה אמם נ'ע' ת'נ'צ'ב'ה' שנת התרצו!
!This Torah crown made the brothers Moses and Elijah Boharon that were for the repose of Mas'ooda their mother, may she rest in Eden (in initials) May her soul be bound up in the bond of life (in initials) the year 1936!
