  Hanukkah Lamp, Russian Empire, 19th century

The back wall of a Hanukkah lamp feature two rampant lions flanking an arched geometric shape. The arch is surmounted by a semifoliate design alluding to a crown. A Hebrew inscription is written on the bodies of the lions beginning on the right with the words: "להדליק נר " ("To kindle the light"), and ending on the left lion with, "של חנוכה" ("of Hanukkah").
