  Redemption plate, Lviv, 1806

© Center for Jewish Art, Photographer: Radovan, Zev, 1991
The silver plate depicts in its center the Sacrifice of Isaac. It is surrounded by two garlands of flowers on the rim of the plate. Two spiraled handles are attached at the sides. Isaac is seen with his hands and legs bound together, lying on his back on fagots, arranged on a square altar. Abraham is seen on his right with a long beard and a hat, holding Isaacs hair in his left hand and a knife in his outstretched right hand. He is looking up towards a winged angel who is holding the knife. A ram is standing on the left between two trees and is caught by his horns in the branches of one of the trees. The ground of Mt. Moriah on which the scene takes place, is covered with grass and flowers.
