Sacred and Ritual Objects Torah shield (Austria?, Hungary?, 1866)
The tas is made of silver and consists of a main plate, a calendar tablets and a suspension chain.
The main plate is rectangular and has wavy borders which are decorated with scrolls and floral patterns. The plate is decorated by two rampant lions waring a crown, showing their tongue and looking forwards. They stand on a scroll and support the five and five Tablets of the Law. Above them is a crown. The crown is decorated with floral and geometrical pattern. The calendar tablet is rectangular and is set in a frame in the lower part of the plate. Bellow the calender tablet is a medaillion framed by scrolls. The backgrond of the plate is decorated by floral and geometric pattern. The plate is hung by a chain.
