  Sacred and Ritual Torah finials, Turkey, 1923
The silver Torah finials consist of a shaft,a body and an apex.##The cylindrical tapering shaft is encircled at the bottom and top by a smooth ring. and bears an inscription in square filled letters which reads in three lines from top towards the bottom:
"הקדש לע"ן )לעילוי נשמת( הנערה מרת רבקה מ"ר... בת
הח"הן )החשוב הנדיב( כה"ר )כבוד הרב( דוד בר סימן טוב הי"ו )השם ישמרהו ויצילהו( נלב"ע )נפטרה לבית עולמה(##ביום 01 לחדש חשון שנת 3865"
dedicated for the exaltation of the soul of the girl Mrs. Rebecca...............daughter of the important the generous the honourable Rabbi David son of the Rabbi Siman Tov may the Lord protect him and save him passed away in the day of tenth of month Heshvan the year 5683 [1923]"
The pear shaped body is composed of an upside down cup surmounted by a concave conical upper part. The lower part is decorated with a pattern of triangles, each framing a bouquet of four or three flowers intermittently. The base of the lower part is decorated with a pattern of whorl of leaves. The serrated upper edges are decorated with an openwork pattern of two rows of triangles. Six chains with bells are attached to the edges. The upper part is decorated with the same pattern of the lower part. The upper part is surmounted with a dome, decorated with a pattern of whorl of leaves. The apex consists of an acorn whithin raised leaves.
