Sacred and Ritual Objects Torah coronet, Turkey, before 1923
The round coronet is divided into a base and an upper part.
The convexed base is decorated alternately with small or big oval medallions flanked by leaves. The big ones are engraved with a patern of vine scroll. The base is boarded with an upper and lower bands decorated with diagonal grooves. The upper part is decorated with Sanctuary Implements and priestly garments and implements; depicted the Menorah (14019.1=14064), the Laver and its stand (14019.3=14081), the Altar of Sacrifice with a shovel and a pan (14019.2=14080). A Breastplate(14019.4=14082), the High Priest robe (14019.5=14083), Incense censer (14019.6=14084).
Each motiv is surrounded by clusters of grapes with vine leaves or without them or by mere vine leaves. The edges are serrated and decorated with leaves. A bar with holes for the staves is attached across the bottom of the coronet.
