Sacred and Ritual Objects Mappah (Reader's desk cover), Tehran
The rectangular cloth Cover consists of a centre and a frame.
A round centre is surrounded by six cartouches and six flowers intermittenly. An inscription in black squer letters is printed in between them. The inscription surounds the center and reads from right to left:
! Moses ## and Aharon ## Joseph ## Abraham ## Isaac ## Jacob !
משה ## ואהרון ## יוסף ## אברהם ## יצחק ## יעקב !
Four identical inscriptions are printed in the direction card. Each inscription facing the frame:
! May you live long !
תזכו ## לשנים ## רבות !
Two inscriptions are printed along the interior frame's adges. The inscriptions facing the frame, are read from the upper left side to the right: Num. 6:24-26 followed by Gen. 49:22

The Persian king's image is printed in the four corners mounted over a dove standing on a branch. The image is surmounted by a persian inscription surmounted by a crown. The inscription is printed in arab letters reads: ! Long live the king ! A frame of flower and foliage motives sorrounds the adges.
