A full-page illustration of the city of Jericho. The city, symbolized by four gabled buildings inscribed
יריחו
"Jericho", is placed in the centre of a circular spiral maze.##
Seven concentric walls interrupted by battlemented towers define the path leading through the maze to the city.
The path starts at the centre of the bottom wall, inscribed
מסילה
"road", above a closed gate inscribed
זה שער העיר וילך עד האמצע
"this is the city gate and it leads to the centre".##
Inscribed at the top of the panel, within a band on penwork foliated scrolls ground,
עיר יריחו מצויירת ובשער אחד שומרת ומפני בני ישראל סוגרת ומסוגרת
"the city of Jericho is depicted, guarded by one gate and enclosed for the children of Israel".##
Penwork foliate scrolls decorate the spandrels.
