The silver Torah Pointer consists of a bar, a pointer and a hanger.##Thetapering bar is divided into upper and lower parts by a globular joint decorated with a foliate pattern. An additional two tiered globular joint decorated with a different foliate pattern surmounts the bar. The tapering cylindrical upper arm is bare on the bottom and has a geometric and folliate repeating arch pattern on its upper half. The lower arm is twisted and terminates with a wide sleeve that is decorated with palmettes at its rim. ## The bar terminates with a clenched hand with a crooked index finger.

There are four hallmarks located on the wrist and cuff. 1. St. George with figures "84" in a rectangular frame. Moscow quality hallmark, appears in 1880-1890 at the last quarter of the 19th c.
quality and city marks were often put together in one hallmark. cf. Tardy, p. 353, similar to 1880-1890 examples.
2. Unidentified hallmark.
3.& 4. Signature A. Riedel and workshop mark. The silversmith is Antoni Riedel, a Warsaw artist (1878-1910). cf. Lleyko p. 90, no. 5. Gradowsky, Bioletyn, no. 26, p. 186.
